In a salon the internet sometimes drops, and bookings cannot wait. That is why AuraBook also works without a connection.
Data lives on the device first
AuraBook reads and writes locally first, on the phone or computer at the desk, then sends to the server. The appointment appears on screen immediately, whatever the network is doing, and syncing happens when the connection returns.
The app itself is stored locally
Pages, styles and scripts are kept by the browser after the first visit. The app starts even when the server does not respond, without the error page an ordinary website shows.
What does not work offline
WhatsApp messages need the internet. With no network the confirmation does not go out at that moment, and the app tells you so. Next-day reminders go out anyway, because they are sent from the server, not from the front desk phone.
Why it is not an app-store app
Installation happens straight from the browser, and updates arrive by themselves on the next open. Nobody has to get a new version approved in an app store, and nobody is stuck on an old version because they forgot to press "update".
